The tree in question is a fir tree which we are informed by our neighbours ( and former owner of our property ) was planted within the last 20 years when the property was converted . The tree has grown excessively large and is very close to our house ( in our courtyard ) and there is a concern that its roots will undermine the stability of our building . The tree we believe to be of low amenity value and is causing excessive shading and is far too large for the space in which it is situated and too close to the house.
